Starting December 15, significant changes will take effect in train travel across the country, impacting InterCity, regional trains, and S-trains. These changes will include new timetables, alterations to journey durations, adjustments to departure and arrival times, and variations in the number of trains during rush hours.
The changes will affect trains traveling to, from, and through Copenhagen and its metropolitan area, the airport, Aarhus, Aalborg, Odense, Hamburg, Fredericia, Esbjerg, Køge, Roskilde, Helsingør, Kalundborg, Holbæk, and Næstved.

TDC, Denmark’s largest telecommunications provider, faced widespread service disruptions, leaving thousands of customers unable to make calls, including to emergency services at 112. The issue appeared to stem from a software update implemented on Wednesday, which went awry, according to TDC Communications Manager Lasse Bjerre Sørensen. While the exact cause is still under investigation, Sørensen assured TV2 that the company is reviewing its procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The outage had significant consequences. Funen Police deployed all available patrol cars to the streets, advising residents to approach officers directly if unable to reach police by phone. Officials recommended that people use phones from providers other than TDC or remove their SIM cards to call 112, as phones can connect to emergency services without a SIM card.
For customers with internet access, alternative communication methods like FaceTime and Facebook Messenger were suggested to maintain contact.
TDC, which provides mobile, internet, and TV services across Denmark, fixed the problem yesterday night.
Another consequence was that rains in large parts of Jutland were suspended. The affected lines include Esbjerg-Holstebro, Vejle-Struer, and Aarhus-Aalborg, among others.
The suspension impacts passengers across North, Central, and South Jutland.
These problems were still present this morning, affecting students and people going to work.

The disruption highlights challenges in Denmark’s transition from analog to digital signaling, a project aimed at nationwide implementation by 2033. Once complete, Denmark will be the first country to fully adopt digital systems for rail operations.
