Healthcare reform: Hovedstaden and Zealand become a single region

The government announced the public healthcare reform. Region Zealand and the Capital Region — the main institutions responsible for providing healthcare services — will be merged into one region. The number of general practitioners will increase to 5,000 by 2035. The agreement also secures 27.5 billion kroner for the sector. Patients with a number of diseases will receive packages modeled after the cancer packages.
