The Danish wine app Vivino has received a 170 million kroner investment from a group of investors, including Moet Hennessy’s global CEO Christophe Navarre, reports Berlingske.
The company said the money will be spent on boosting its marketing efforts in the world’s top wine consumption countries, such as Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the US.

The smartphone app, which scans wine labels and instantly provides users with the wine’s ratings and reviews, is currently used by more than 13 million users worldwide.
Vivino was founded in 2010 by two Danish entrepreneurs, Heini Zachariassen and Theis Søndergaard, and currently has offices in Copenhagen, San Francisco, Ukraine and India.
Over the past 5 years, Vivino has developed into one of the world’s largest wine communities.
