Last December, 16,000 school children collected over 180,000 kroner for vulnerable children in Rwanda.
The school children raised the money by doing good deeds and small services for their families, who then paid them for the work.
The money raised will help at least 36,000 children in Rwanda have a safe upbringing and prevent families from breaking up.
A record year
The Christmas fund-raising initiative was a record for non-profit SOS Børnebyerne, almost tripling the amount raised in December 2013. That year. 3,600 children raised 63,000 kroner.
”The children are going to make a big difference for vulnerable and orphaned children in poor countries,” the organisation's communications director, Grove Hermansen, told Politiken.
The Danish school children were aged seven to 13.
