If it seems like even more Danes are on holiday this summer than usual, you may be on to something.
According to newly-released numbers, more passengers went through the Copenhagen Airport in June than in any other month in the airport's 88-year history.
Over 2.3 million passengers travelled through the Copenhagen Airport in June, a 4.8 percent over the previous month. Through the first half of the year, the passenger numbers are a 2.2 percent increase over 2012.
Although the international departures in June were up 4.4 percent over last year, it is domestic travel that has seen the largest jump. Passenger totals on domestic flights grew by 10.2 percent over last year.
The most popular destination from Copenhagen Airport is London, followed by Oslo and Stockholm. The most popular domestic destination is Aalborg, which came in at number seven in the overall list of top ten destinations.
