In the next couple of days, the InOut team pay tribute to the performances, shows and events that have impressed them the most over the last 12 months.

1. No Man’s Art Gallery
With a secret location revealed just days before the opening, NMAG Copenhagen lived up to the hype – and then some. Contemporary works by artists such as Daniel Van Der Noon, Mette Colberg, Troels Andersen, Bini Sum and many more were sprawled throughout the rustic rooms of the charming KW3 cottage, and beer chilled in a bathtub made art lovers feel right at home. With a pop-up gallery organised in a new city every few months, a discount for art buyers under 26 and adventurous events including Art In The Dark, NMAG is steadily pushing boundaries in the art world to make room for new and undiscovered talent.

2. Just Plants 
When the visionary mind behind art excursion project The Jaunt and Eight Magazine, Jeroen Smeets, met the imaginative brain of Scott Cooper, the ArtRebels online manager, magic was bound to happen. The dynamic duo exceeded expectations with their debut show at ArtRebels Gallery about the humble pot plant and pulled together an exciting list of artists including Hedof, Josephine Kyhn, Monica Ramos and Rachel Levit.

3. Frida Kahlo: A Life In Art
Arken’s extensive selection of Frida Kahlo’s life’s work made for a captivating and inspiring gallery visit.

4. Flowers and World Views 
With a violinist and restoration artist live at the opening at Statens Museum for Kunst, the art of the flower painting had quite the debut. Overall, it was beautiful and informative.

5. Man Ray: Light and Dark
The GL Holtegaard exhibition successfully presented a dynamic picture of one of the 20th century’s most significant surrealist artists.
