Simpsons episode made from Lego

The episode will be the 550th since the series began in 1989

Danish toy giant Lego has teamed up with international TV phenomenon 'The Simpsons' to create a special episode.

Entitled 'Brick Like Me', the new 30-minute episode will feature Springfield and all its characters made entirely out of the world famous brick toy. In the episode, Homer awakens to discover his family is made out of Lego and must then find a way to escape before it is too late.

The episode, which will be the 550th since the series began in 1989, is set for release in early May.

25 years of Doh!
Now in its 25th series, The Simpsons is the longest running scripted show in the history of television.

'We are thrilled to collaborate with Fox during the 25th anniversary year of the Simpsons', explained Jill Wilfert, a vice president of licensing & entertainment, to Lego.com

Lego, which has been named 'Toy of the Century' twice, was founded in 1932 and is one of Denmark's best known exports.

The announcement comes at the same time as the launch of a Simpson's Lego house toy and shortly after the release of the film, 'The Lego Movie'.
