A resounding yes please!

t’s a comic operetta from the Golden Age of Danish culture, performed at a venue that dates back to 1767 as a part of the second iteration of the wildly popular Danish theatre festival CPH Stage – but surprisingly, No! is performed in English, not Danish.

And it’s not just this vaudeville production: with more than 30 works performed in English over the course of eleven days and an additional 18 marked as non-verbal, CPH Stage has made the month of June a great time to be an English-speaking theatre lover in Copenhagen. But theatre-goers will have the most chances to see No!, as performances continue through the entire length of the festival.

That’s a good thing: presented by That Theatre Company and directed by Barry McKenna, No! stars accomplished actors Claus Bue, Sune Svankjær, Christiane Bjørg Nielsen and Ian Burns, who in between the odd song bring sparkling wit to the translated text. 

The talented cast and crew will present the timeless tale of unrequited love each night of the festival at 7pm. The price of the ticket includes access to the Theatre Museum’s exhibitions after the show.
