Øresund Bridge fully reopens following car crash

Traffic from Sweden to Denmark was halted this afternoon for almost an hour

Anyone waiting for deliveries or arrivals via road from Sweden this afternoon should prepare themselves for delays, as a car accident closed the bridge in the direction from Sweden to Denmark for almost an hour, Ekstra Bladet reports.

The accident initially closed the bridge in both directions, and delayed traffic to Denmark by fully 45 minutes. The bridge fully reopened shortly after 4pm.

Punctured tyre
"A car punctured a tyre and smashed into the central barriers," Michael Andersen of Copenhagen Police told Ekstra Bladet.

"A lot of plastic has been spread on the road after the accident, and that is primarily what we need to clean up before we can open for traffic again."
