Entertaining the kids in November

There are plenty of things to keep kids happy this month

Does your budding brain box need some mental exercise?

The Experimentarium City has the perfect answer.  From October 10 its brand new exhibition on all matters grey has been testing the whole family with mental workouts to find out if your brain is out of shape or a hidden body-builder.

A wide range of activities are on offer that are guaranteed to keep everyone busy.

Pull your brain out of familiar routines, shake it up, surprise it and challenge it with vigorous mental games.

For an organic computer that carries out hundreds of calculations each day, it actually turns out your brain is pretty lazy.

Ever wondered if you are working at your most efficient of whether multitasking is healthy? Test your skills on the brain game and see if your head’s up to scratch.

The exhibition also gives you a chance to challenge your senses with a teetering bridge where you can watch the world wobble beneath your feet – or does it?

Whilst this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, take a clinical dive into the mysterious mind with researchers and disect a sheep’s brain! Apparently it’s not too different from your own.

And at the Drug Dancer you can see the effect of alcohol – a drop of which might be in order after this mental day out. (AC)

Circus School

We all know that kids love going to the circus. There’s nothing more exciting than watching all of those masterful jugglers and acrobats performing.

Or so we thought, until the Circus Museum in Hvidovre came up with the idea of giving them the chance to step into their shoes.

Every Sunday, the museum runs its very own circus school.

Your kids can try out everything from juggling to tight-rope walking.

This is an extra activity you can add to your visit to the museum, which gives a good overview of what goes on behind the scenes at the circus. (YN)

Inside the stamp

An exhibition that helps your kids to learn how communication worked before the internet arrived whilst playing.

Children have their own special zone where stamps come alive in the 3D world created by the museum.

Over 100 Danish stamps have been produced in a huge format, which gives the little visitors a chance to properly navigate through them.
For example, they can get into the Round Tower stamp or jump on a boat that has just sailed out of the stamp.

If that sounds intriguing, maybe you should also visit Inside the Stamp with your kids and check it out. (YH)
