The National Museum of Copenhagen on March 20 was the scene of a cosplay party that saw hundreds descend on the venue to dress up as their favourite character. Tours of the exhibition were led by senior researcher Martin Petersen, while DJ Kenneth Bager played music in the background. Every second hour there were three-minute performances showcasing the costumes with performers playing and dancing. Japanese cosplayer Toshi showed how costumes are made and cosplayer Mie Roesgaard talked about being a cosplayer nowadays in Denmark. Cosplay (aka Japanese costume play), which started in the 1980s, reached Denmark in the 1990s where it has been popular ever since.
