Bikes are a necessary item in a typical household in Denmark. The flatland that is the country creates a smooth albeit monotone surface that is perfect for biking – whether to work, for pleasure or just to get around quickly. There are a myriad of bike shops around Copenhagen and these are a good starting point.
Cykelbanditten
Having established shops all over Copenhagen (see website for details), Bandits are a great shop to get a good quality bike at a decent price. The staff are friendly and helpful and the bikes are quite unique.

Another well-known line of shops. It’s fairly standard and will meet any demand. Of course, the most popular bikes can be found here, as well as accessories and spare parts.

Christiania Bikes
A shop that lies in the heart of Christiania. Their speciality are, unsurprisingly, the Christiania bikes – surely the best way to transport kids in the city.

Jupiter
This popular Danish bike shop own around ten places in the city. They offer a wide variety of bicycles, depending on the needs and demands. Prices are at a standard Denmark level, but it is possible to find something on discount or simply less fancy.

The Bike Man
These are the cycle repairmen! Usually the shop you bought your bike will give you a warranty, but it does expire after a year or two, so the details of a mechanic who comes to your place with all the spare parts and whatnot is an address that is good to remember.
