Skat releases video instructions in English on how to pay your Danish taxes

Foreigners trying to figure out next year's taxes are a little less likely to get lost in translation, after national tax authority Skat released an English instructional video on its website.

The video was specifically created for taxpayers’ 2013 preliminary income assessment, which were recently made available online.

Skat is currently designing a more in-depth English version of its website, which is set to go online in December. Until then Kia Gade, a Skat spokesperson, said that the video should help answer any immediate qustions about how to review this year's form.

“Tax forms are a labouring process for anyone, whether they’re in English or Danish,” Gade said. “Right now there’s a basic guide in English you can follow on the homepage, but soon it’ll be far more detailed.”

According to Skat, additional instructional videos in English will be available this spring.
