Man found dead after apparent train collision

Police have yet to determine whether the body of a man found near Nordhavn Station died after being hit by a train

Copenhagen police are seeking to determine the identity and cause of death of a man found lifeless on the train tracks near Nordhavn Station last night.

“The investigation is continuing, but we do not have a lot to go on at this time,” John Hansen, a spokesperson for Copenhagen Police, told the tabloid Ekstra Bladet.

The body of the man, who was described as “foreign looking”, was found 200 metres from the platform and the driver of the train said that he was uncertain whether he had struck anyone, leading to speculation that the victim had never actually been struck by a train.

Hansen declined to comment on any theories, saying only that the investigation was “ongoing”.

There was no ID on the man’s body, but police said he appeared to be about 30-years-old. They are asking for witnesses who may have seen anything on Tuesday night to come forward.
