Police make arrest in terrorist threat on Aarhus city bus

Warning shots fired during arrest of 29-year-old suspect

East Jutland Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in Brabrand, a suburb of Aarhus. The man is suspected of creating havoc on an Aarhus city bus line earlier today by shouting that he was a terrorist.

"We have no doubt that it is him," police commissioner Mogens Brøndum told Politiken newspaper.

Riders on the number 12 bus line in Aarhus told police that the man shouted that he was a terrorist before jumping off and switching to the number 4 bus that runs into the city. The man fled when he encountered officers while on his way back into town. Police have confirmed that warning shots were fired during the arrest west of Aarhus.

It is still unclear what caused the man's outburst.
