Body of missing teen sailor found

Other 18-year-old still missing after two weeks

Divers today pulled the body of 18-year-old Jacob Hjerrild from the waters near Juelsminde on Jutland’s east coast. He is one of the two young men who have been missing for two weeks. Southeast Jutland police confirmed the identification and said that the family had been informed

The second man, 18-year-old Rasmus Bank Jørgensen, is still missing.

The two young men sailed on the evening of April 22 from Juelsminde. They were scheduled to meet up with a friend, and when they did not turn up, the man reported to authorities that they were missing. The young men's empty dinghy was found floating in the waters the next day.

Hjerrild’s body was spotted and reported to police by a citizen who was sailing off Storstranden near Juelsminde.

Helicopters continued to search area looking for any sign of Jørgensen.
