Police fire warning shots during Christiania raid

Police arrested seven individuals after being bombarded with stones and a molotov cocktail by masked assailants today

Police fired four warning shots after being attacked with stones and at least one Molotov cocktail while raiding drug stalls in Christiania today.

In a press release, the police said they were met with stiff resistance from a group of masked assailants but that they managed to arrest seven individuals and confiscate drugs from several booths.

“We have again experienced that Christiania is ready to go to great lengths to defend its criminal activities,” Copenhagen Police wrote in a press release. “During today’s action, guards on Pusher Street surrounded a group of civilian and uniformed police officers and attempted to free an arrested individual. The assailants were incredibly aggressive and so to secure the retreat of the police and further serious confrontation it was necessary to fire four warning shots.”
