Hipsters with patchy beards are willing to pay 45,000 kroner for a facial hair transplant to boost their beard growth.
Medica beauty clinic in Kolding, Jutland told MetroXpress newspaper that men between the ages of 20 and 40 are increasingly getting fake beards for a rough and trendy lumberjack look.
"We've done the surgery before, but not as often as now," said Tinna Treichel from the Medica Clinic.
"It's not like we do it every other day, but more want to go through the procedure because beards have become trendy."
By moving hair follicles from the patient's neck to his face, the plastic surgeons can make something that looks and feels almost like a real beard.
"When the men shave it down, I don't see the big difference," Treichel said.
Facial implants have grown extremely popular in Brooklyn, New York where baby-faced men pay $8,500 for the beard-boosting procedure, according to the New York Post.
