The python that came crawling up the toilet

A man in Jutland found a one-and-a-half metre snake in his bathroom

When Jon Heibæk from Aalborg in Jutland went to the bathroom in his vacuum cleaner store, he did not expect to encounter a one-and-a-half metre long python snake slithering up his toilet. But that was exactly what he found on Tuesday, Nordjyske reports.

He quickly pulled up his trousers and got out his iPhone to take a shot of the giant intruder, but by then the snake had fled back down the pipe. He then placed a heavy box on the toilet lid.

No-one would believe it
Heibæk didn't think anyone would believe him, so he didn't do that much about it. But word quickly spread in Jutland, and the next day he was called up by animal control.

"On Wednesday I was contacted by someone named Sysser from Nordjysk Dyreredning. She had heard from one of my customers that I was visited by a snake. She asked if I could leave the toilet lid up," he told Nordjyske.

He reluctantly did what he was told, and after a few hours later the python had come back and was now crawling on the wall.

Snake is safe
The snake is a royal python and is now in the care of Nordjysk Dyreredning animal control, which wants to get in touch with its owner.

So, is there a chance that one of our readers has lost a royal python lately?
