A 20-year-old Danish man has died in the holiday resort town of Magaluf in Mallorca, two British newspapers, Metro and the Mirror, report.
In the early hours of Sunday, the man fell off a balcony on the fourth floor of a hotel that he wasn't a guest at.
A team of rescuers tried in vain to save the young man's life.
Police thought he was British
British media got hold of the story because the local police had mistaken him for being a British citizen until they found his Danish passport.
The Foreign Ministry's citizen service, Borgerservice, has contacted the man's relatives in Denmark, but are not allowed to give away further details in the case.
"I can confirm that a person has died in Mallorca and that his relatives have been notified," Borgerservice spokesperson Folmer Jensen told Politiken.
