Danes may see a muscular Adonis or a sleek, long-legged bombshell when they look at themselves in the mirror, but they are not as beautiful to others as they may think.

A survey by Hotels.com and Match.com shows that Danes are not as desired in the rest of the Nordics. The survey asked 5,499 single men and women in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland who they thought were most attractive, and this time Denmark did not rank highest.

Who is fairest?
Only 20 percent of Swedish men found Danish women to be the most beautiful in the Nordics, while only 25 percent of Swedish women identified Danish men as the best-looking. Among Norwegian single men and women, 21 percent pointed to Danish women and 32 percent found Danish men to be the hunks of the Nordics.

And it's even worse in Finland, where only 18 percent ranked Danish women as the hottest in Scandinavia, while 23 percent thought the same about Danish men.

Swedish men and women take the title as the most beautiful people in the Nordics, with the Norwegians – especially the men – in close second. 

Finnish last
It's not only bad news for the vain Danes, as at least they are not the ugliest. Swedes, Norwegians and Danes all agree that Finnish men and women are the most unattractive lot in the Nordics.

Respondents could only rank other Nordic countries, so it's fair to assume that the Danes would have topped the list if they had just been allowed to vote for themselves.
