Enjoy some Vivaldi vrooom at his villa

Jealousy, complicated love affairs, lies, deceit and murderous revenge plans are the classic recipe for any good opera, and this highly entertaining three-act opera by Antonio Vivaldi, the first he ever wrote, has them all.

Lasting only two and a half hours, and sung in Italian (with English supertitles), it may be a good way to figure out whether opera is your thing.

Ottone in Villa is one of several productions at the annual Copenhagen Opera Festival, which this year includes performances of The Marriage of Figaro and Romeo and Juliet.
