Since the police increased its efforts against human trafficking last year, the number of human-trafficking cases has tripled.
A report from the police reveals that 46 people were charged in 44 cases in the 12 months up until September 1, compared to 23 charges and 15 cases the year before.
"It's nice to see that our efforts are bearing fruit and it only convinces us to keep on going," Svend Larsen, the police commissioner for the national police department Rigspolitiet, told TV2 News.
"It's gone much better that we had thought, because they are tough cases and we had initially thought we would have a tough time getting many charges out of it."

Kolding and beyond
According to the police, Kolding train station is Denmark's central hub when it comes to human trafficking.
Many refugees and asylum-seekers are dropped off here and instructed how to take trains towards Copenhagen, Malmö or wherever they wish to go.
