Careering around the corners in the classic cars of yesteryear

Cph Historic Grand Prix
July 30-31; Bellahøj Park, Hvidkildevej 63, Cph NV; 275kr; chgp.dk

Start your engines because Danish motorsport’s flagship event is back to stir up your chassis and test your suspension.

The track is 2.6 kilometres long and the drivers will face a number of difficult 90 degree turns.

Race organisers are looking to emulate street racetracks such as Monaco and have a very similar chicane to that famous course.

But if there are any spectacular crashes, then never fear as steel fences and concrete will protect the crowd from harm.

Seeing these vintage cars in action is a great way to introduce fans to motorsport, while for veteran spectators it’s a chance to see the classics tearing it up once again.

The action-packed race will be fun for the whole family and is a great way to show children the cars of yesteryear.

Younger spectators under the age of 14 can enter for free with an adult, while the family area is sure to entertain kids of all ages with a host of activities.

Away from the excitement you can treat yourself to some racing souvenirs, or if the racing gets a bit much, stalls hosted by motoring clubs, a bookstore and a number of exhibitions will be present.

A number of restaurants and food stalls are also going to be open to motorsport fans.

After all, nobody wants to watch sport on an empty stomach.
