The first International Day of Yoga was observed all over the world on 21 June 2015, after it was unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, to further spread the benefits of Yoga to the entire world.
This year, a special focus is on the health benefits of yoga (yoga against stress, anxiety, respiratory problems and for better focus, stronger immune system) and the Embassy of India will be celebrating the International Day of Yoga ONLINE under the umbrella of #YogaFromHome so that anyone can join in the programme and participate from home.
The event will include free online yoga classes in five different cities in Denmark: Copenhagen, Aalborg, Aarhus, Fanø and Odense. You can join us for the whole programme or tune in for your favourite yoga class. The Embassy of India, Copenhagen in partnership with The Art of Living, Astanga Yoga Copenhagen, Brahma Kumaris, Danmark Yoga, Dansk Yoga Forbund, Daya Ayurveda, ISHA Foundation, Mette Rexen Yoga and Yogahuset Aalborg, hosts this event.
A curtain raiser flash mob yoga event was organised by the Embassy of India on at Nyhavn, Copenhagen in collaboration with various Yoga associations in Denmark to create awareness about the International Day of Yoga. Ambassador of India HE Mrs. Pooja Kapur, officials from the Embassy and yoga lovers of the city participated.
