Copenhagen mayor leads call from 21 European counterparts for more direct climate funding to cities

Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Sophie Hæstorp Andersen has spearheaded a joint call to European Parliament candidates ahead of the election on Sunday to direct EU funding towards cities’ environmental actions. The letter argues that urban green transitions hold the greatest untapped opportunity for reducing and adapting to dangerous global warming effects.
