Bob Dylan to play Royal Arena in September – tickets go on sale tomorrow morning

But don’t bother if you were planning to view the concert on the tiny screen of your mobile

Beat that Paul McCartney! And you too, Gilberto Gil.

Both men recently turned 80 within days of giving standout performances at Glastonbury and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival respectively.

But they still have another year to match the exploits of Bob Dylan, who at the age of 81 has confirmed he will be visiting  Royal Arena in September with his ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ tour.

No, no, no, not September 2023 – the permutations of whether he will make it that far are a concert arranger’s nightmare – but in precisely 80 days on September 30.

Not a fan of mobiles
Dylan, who last performed in Denmark at the 2019 Roskilde Festival, has made a special requirement ahead of the concert, for which tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:00.

All mobile phones must be handed in before the show – so sadly, if you were planning to view the concert on the tiny screen of your mobile, you’ll be disappointed.

Dylan has never been a fan of fans taking photos, so the advent of the mobile age has been something of a scourge for him.

In Vienna in 2019, he stopped playing for 10 seconds after asking a fan armed with a mobile: “We can either play or pose. Okay?”
