Powdered MDMA taking hold in Copenhagen

The party drug MDMA – most commonly known as ecstasy – is showing up more and more in a powdered form among young party-goers in Copenhagen.

“Young people from all walks of life are using powdered MDMA,” Copenhagen police spokesperson Bjarne Christensen told DR Nyheder. “We find MDMA every weekend at many different clubs and bars.”

MDMA has been around for years in the tablet form known as ecstasy, but police said that fewer and fewer tablets are being found, while more of the powdered variety is showing up.
