Chelsea won in Copenhagen without impressing

F.C Copenhagen took on Chelsea in the first game of the two knockout games.

A tight and tactical first half ended 0 – 0, and Copenhagen looked in control, versus a slowplaying English side.

However, the second half was barely started before the situation changed, the ball was lost in the right side, and a cut back pass from Cucurella provided a long range opportunity for Chelsea, and Reece James shot from distance went in, in a situation where the Copenhagen keeper didn’t look chanceless. 1 – 0 down, F. C Copenhagen woke up, and were close to equalising when Claesson hit the inside post.

A personal mistake on the right side from Giorgi Gocholesevilli, who lost the ball, led to a second goal for Chelsea FC and Copenhagen was down 2 – 0.

A late set piece led to a Copenhagen goal, as Gabriel Pereira scored from a header, to the end result 1 – 2.
