16-year old Herning girl fends off rapists

She bit one of her attackers on the hand and called out for help, causing them to run away.

A 16-year old was on Saturday set upon by two men who attempted to rape her. She managed to fend them off and police are now asking witnesses to come forward.

Appeal for help
The girl was walking along Østergade in Herning shortly before 11 pm when she was grabbed from behind by the two men – one of whom attempted to clamp her mouth shut.

They then led her to a gate by Herning’s courthouse and attempted to take off her jacket and undo her trousers while three others looked on.

However, the girl managed to stop the assault by biting the hand of one of her attackers and calling out for help – which prompted the attackers to run away.

On Sunday, Central and West Jutland Police appealed for help and asked potential witnesses to come forward to identify the attackers.

All five men have an ethnic background classified as non-Danish, with two being about 180 cm tall and in their early 20s.

One reportedly told the girl to “shut up” while the assault was in progress, revealing that he spoke accented Danish. He was wearing a dark grey or black padded jacket with a hood.
