The clubhouse of biker gang Gremium has been put on lockdown by South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police after a shootout with members of rival gang Brothas.

The lockdown has been put into effect for 14 days. DR reports the shooting occurred on Tuesday night, when 16 shots were exchanged between the two warring factions.

Kim Kliver, a police inspector, justified the measures, saying that he believed there was a risk further shootings could happen in the area. He added that the police could not tolerate the risk posed to members of the public who visited the area frequently.

“We are in no doubt there is a conflict between the groups, and we cannot accept that they pose a potential risk to the citizens who frequent the area where Gremium’s clubhouse is located,” DR quoted him as saying.

Closed until February 16
According to the police, the lockdown is a signal to the two groups that the police will not tolerate the potential threat they pose to members of the public.

“We will not tolerate conduct that is a risk to the public,” said Kliver.
