It’s that time of year again. The gaelic football season in Ireland is approaching the business end, with just four counties now left in the championship (Dublin, Kerry, Mayo and Tyrone). And in Europe, the season is hotting up too. 

The next stop for Copenhagen GAA is Tallinn in Estonia, where a packed weekend is in store. Starting with a tour of the old city on Friday August 16, followed by a reception at the Irish embassy no less, the real business of the weekend kicks off on Saturday, where Copenhagen will do battle with the other Scandinavian region teams – and this time there are more than ever! 

That’s thanks to the addition of two new teams from Finland – so no less than eight clubs will be contesting the Estonian tournament, representing Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia. Gaelic football is truly on the rise in northern Europe it seems.

Copenhagen will have both its women’s and men’s teams participating, so it will be a fun weekend as well as a busy one. The women’s team will be the first to sport the club’s brand new 2013/2014 kit that weekend, so let’s hope it inspires them on to great success!

New members are welcome, regardless of their skill level, to attend training every Monday at Arsenalvej in Christianshavn from 6pm.
