Thunderstorm warning in western Denmark

Gloomy weather from Germany moving in on Jylland and Fyn

The blue skies of the first summer days of the year may soon turn dark over western Fyn and Jylland, according to the national weather institute DMI.

A sudden cloud break moving in on Denmark from Germany may bring heavy thunderstorms and rainfall that will cause flooding in low-lying areas tonight or tomorrow.

"There's a local risk of 10-15 millimetres of rain in just 30 minutes along with thunder and strong winds of 15 metres per second," DMI reports.

Steering clear of capital
The thunderstorms from Germany will probably hit Denmark between 8pm tonight and 8am tomorrow morning.

They don't appear to be moving towards Copenhagen, though, so the sunny skies should remain here all through tomorrow.
