Danish diver killed in diving accident in Norway

Recreational diver succumbed to decompression sickness

A Danish man has died after a diving accident in Norway. Police said that the accident happened near Bergen in an area frequented by many recreational divers. The man apparently died from decompression sickness. 

Police that attended the scene said that the diver came up too quickly. The man was taken to a marine base near the site of the accident, but it was too late.

Authorities said the man was in a desperate condition when the ambulances arrived. The man had been diving with three other Danes when the accident occurred. The other divers were reportedly not harmed. The man’s name has not yet been released.
