Freedom of expression demonstration to be held on Saturday

Peaceful proceedings to start at 12:00 at Kongens Nytorv

A peaceful demonstration is being held on Saturday January 10 in Copenhagen in the wake of the terror attack on the offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday that left a dozen people dead.

The demonstrations will start at 12:00 at Kongens Nytorv in the centre of the city and the police are aware it will take place.

”We will show our solidarity and our full support to the freedom of expression and freedom of press against violence and threats,” the demonstration's three organisers, Delphine Piault, Kristoffe Biglete and Guillaume Wab Le Ray, wrote on the demonstration's Facebook page, where those interested can sign up to attend.

With the Dagmar storm all set to return on Saturday, the weather could be less than desirable, so don't forget to bring an umbrella.

And don't forget to bring your pens.
