New motorcycle club in southern Denmark denies biker gang status

Police attentive to the appearance of German club north of the border

Germany is Denmark’s biggest partner in commerce, but one of the latest branches of a German organisation to open its doors in the country is of a decidedly different nature.

United Tribuns Forever, which in January opened a club in Aabenraa in southern Denmark, is the second German motorcycle club to set up shop in Denmark.

Ekstra Bladet reports that the club has had several conflicts with the rival Hells Angels outfits in its homeland, and Michael Ask, the head of the police intelligence service Rigspolitiets Nationale Efterforskningscenter (NEC), told the newspaper that the authorities will be keeping an eye on the situation in Denmark.

“When a new group comes to Denmark, we are of course alert to how it might impact on the balance of power within organised crime,” he said.

Multicultural membership
On its Facebook page the club denies being a biker gang and describes itself as a fraternity with interests in martial arts and bodybuilding. It also emphasises that it is multicultural in its membership.

Prior to 2013, the Hells Angels and Bandidos were the only biker gangs with a presence in the country, but since then the Dutch group Satudarah MC and Germium MC have entered the fray.

Ask sees similarities between the new clubs. “United Tribuns Danmark is a relatively new grouping, which is reminiscent of Saturdah and Germium,” he said.

“They are connected to the southern Jutland area and one can assume that they will primarily settle in that part of Denmark.”
