Interpreter jailed for feeding Turkish students answers in driving test

Cheating students ordered to take the test again

An interpreter used by driving schools in Slagelse has been sentenced to 20 days in prison for feeding Turkish students the answers in their theory tests.

The man has also lost his job as a consultant at Slagelse Municipality.

Peculiar popularity
Local police had noticed that Turkish immigrants who wished to obtain their driver’s licence in Denmark had been favouring Slagelse to do their theory tests.

It turned out the interpreter was not only translating for them but also giving them the correct answers.

Cheating students
All the students who passed the drivers’ licence test with the man’s help will now have to repeat it.

It is not the first time that somebody has been caught cheating in the theory tests in Slagelse.

In 2010, a group of driving school students and an instructor were caught cheating during a theory test.
