The class of 2015: from Tunisia and Thailand, and Kenya and Kurdistan

From Kenya to Kurdistan, and Tunisia to Thailand, the new citizen ceremonies were a multinational affair until everyone became Danish

Thousands descended on Parliament on the last weekend of April for this year’s citizenship ceremonies. Dansk Folkeparti co-founder Pia Kjærsgaard is one of several prominent politicians who never misses the occasion, and she and her peers were there once again to gather their flags and welcome in Denmark’s new crop: the class of 2015.

Among the dignitaries present were (left-right) the speaker of Parliament, Mogens Lykketoft (with his wife Mette Holm), who as its new president will preside over the next session of the United Nations General Assembly; the Danish prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt; and DF politician Pia Kjærsgaard and her husband Henrik
