FC Midtjylland draw Italian giants in Europa League

Napoli, Club Brugge and Legia Warsaw to visit Herning

The Danish champions FC Midtjylland have been drawn in the same Europa League group as Napoli, Club Brugge and Legia Warsaw after ousting Southampton in the final round of qualifying last night.

The Italian giants will provide stern opposition, as will Belgian outfit Club Brugge, which disposed of several Danish teams in European football last year. Polish champions Legia Warsaw won’t be pushovers either.

“They are all good teams, but not frightening,” Jesper Lauridsen, FCM’s left back, told bold.dk.

“If we can match Southampton, then I think we can measure up to these three teams. So I see possibilities.”

The Wolves were drawn in group D and the first round will take place on September 17. The schedule has yet to be decided.
