Today’s date: Grundtvigskirken opens

On this day in 1940, the expressionist church Grundtvigskirken opened its doors for the first time in the Bispebjerg district of Copenhagen. Designed by the noted architect Peder Vilhelm Jensen Klint, the church was named after the Danish philosopher and hymn writer NFS Grundtvig and took 19 years to build.
