Five years ago on this day, Caroline Wozniacki became the first ever number one ranked Danish tennis player in the world following her victory over Petra Kvitova in the third round of the China Open.

Wozniacki, who became only the fifth player to reach the number one ranking without winning a grand slam, held her top ranking for a total of 67 weeks.
