Today’s Date: 67 years and counting

April 4 marks the 67th anniversary of the establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) of which Denmark was a founding member alongside 11 other nations. Due to Denmark’s governance of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, they are also included within the Danish membership. As part of recent NATO operations, Danish troops have been deployed to countries including Afghanistan and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
