Today’s date: First female minister

Nina Bang, the first female minister in Denmark, was appointed on this day back in 1924.

The then prime minister, Thorvald Stauning, chose her to be his minister for education.

She was notorious for her forceful no-nonsense approach, often being referred to as “the only real man in the government”.
