This year is shaping up to be a banner one for Danish music fans, as a wide variety of acts are headed to venues across the country.
This year’s Roskilde Festival is packed with superstar names, but the list is pretty impressive even without the Roskilde lineup
The Good, the Bad and the Legendary
Film music legend Ennio Morricone will give his first Danish concert ever in December. Morricone composed the legendary soundtracks to ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly’, ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, ‘The Mission’ and over 500 other film scores, including the Oscar-winning Best Original Score for ‘The Hateful Eight’’.
The concert at Copenhagen’s Forum takes place in connection with the 88-year-old maestros ’60 Years of Music World Tour ‘. Maestro will be joined by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, and will feature selections from throughout his legendary career.
Presale for the concert starts on Friday, April 29 at 10:00. Tickets are priced from 780 to 1280 kroner.

Still riding Horses
Writer and rock icon Patti Smith will visit the DR Concert Hall in Copenhagen on August 2 for an evening of poetry and song dubbed ‘An Evening of Words and Music’. Tickets are on sale now and start at 440 kroner.
Is anyone still Happy?
If there is anyone, anyone at all, who can bear to hear Pharrell Williams sing ‘Happy’ one more time, they will have the chance to listen to him do that song along with some of his other hits like Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ and Jay-Z’s ‘I Just Wanna Love You (Give It 2 Me)’ at Tivoli’s Plænen on July 6.
Williams is the writer and producer of records that have sold over 100 million copies, earned 11 Grammys and a Billboard nomination for Producer of the Decade in 2010. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 28 at 10:00.
Justin’s former squeeze
Pop princess Selena Gomez is bringing her confections to Copenhagen’s Forum on October 15. The former child star and ex-boyfriend of Justin Bieber had a major musical breakthrough last year with the album ‘Revival’, which included hits such as ‘Hands To Myself’ and ‘Same Old Love’. Tickets cost between 470 and 650 kroner and go on sale Friday, April 29 at 10:00 via Live Nation.

Living history
Jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater has been added to the line up of this year’s Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
Bridgewater’s Grammy-winning career spans four decades and has become a reference point for contemporary vocal divas worldwide. Her July 5 show at this year’s festival is being billed as a tribute to New Orleans.
Pat Metheny, Branford Marsalis and Burt Bacharach are already on the bill for the July jazzfest. Tickets for the headliners are selling out quickly.
