Danish actor ‘tenth most popular in the world’

Pilou Asbæk sails up IMDB’s Star Meter

Pilou Asbæk is hot.

Turns by the Danish actor in major films like Luc Besson’s ‘Lucy’ and the scifi manga thriller ‘Ghost in the Shell’ helped bring him onto the world stage.

And then, of course, there is that little role as Euron Grayjoy in something called ‘Games of Thrones’.

The 35-year-old actor’s popularity among world movie lovers has exploded and helped him into 41st place on the user-driven IMDB Star Meter.

A numbers game
Using the matrix designed by the ranking system, Asbæk’s ascension from 370th to 41st place makes him the tenth most popular male actor on the planet, surpassing giants like Keanu Reeves, Will Smith and even Tom Cruise.

“I’m both proud and happy and it’s great to confirm that people like what I’m doing,” Asbæk told BT.

IMDB’s list has been accused of being rigged in the past and is at the very least somewhat volatile, as it is fickle users who solely decide who is ‘hot’ and who is ‘not’.
