Large drug bust in Lyngby

Amphetamines, cocaine and weapons seized

In a large drug bust in the northern Copenhagen suburb of Lyngby, police have reportedly seized 28 kilograms of amphetamines, three kilos of cocaine and a cache of weapons.

A total of six people were arrested, including a 42-year-old man who was arrested in the Lyngby residence.

“We had good reason to believe that there was a stockpile of amphetamines in the apartment, so we decided to act immediately,” the head of Copenhagen Police’s drug unit, Steffen Steffensen, told public broadcaster DR.

In addition to the drugs, police found three pistols, two shotguns, ammunition a grenade, and 157 grammes of explosives. Additionally, a shotgun was found at the 42-year-oldÂ’s workplace.

Police credited a mix of skill and luck in making the bust, saying it took only five weeks to investigate and make the arrests.
