Jimmy Carr to perform in Copenhagen

British star the latest in a line of international names in town

Denmark was once a desert when it came to international stand-up comedy, but more and more big names are including a Danish leg on their international tours. Today DR announced that Jimmy Carr will be performing at DR Koncerthuset on 26 April.

The British comedian, who is the host of the popular TV comedy show '8 Out of 10 Cats', will include Denmark in his Gagging Order Tour.

Carr is known for his edgy brand of humour and perfectly-timed delivery of cutting one-liners. He happily courts controversy. DR writes that audiences should leave their inhibitions, conscience and moral compass at home.

A number of international comedy stars were in Copenhagen in October for solo gigs, including the co-creator of 'The Office', Stephen Merchant, 'Saturday Night Live' legend Jim Breuer and master of deadpan Jack Dee.

And it's turning into a busy spring for British comedians in Copenhagen, as Al 'the Pub Landlord' Murray is performing at Amager Bio on April 18.

Tickets for the Jimmy Carr gig will go on sale tomorrow at 10am (drkoncerthuset.dk).
