Nearly a million Danes get a small tax refund

Old glitch in the system leads to a lot of tiny kickbacks

A few extra kroner found their way into 900,000 bank accounts on Tuesday. An error in employment deductions made between 2004 and 2012 was cited as the reason.

While some lucky tax payers received as much as 400 kroner, the vast majority of the checks are for less than 50 kroner, and some for as little as one kroner.

The money was transferred on Tuesday to all of the 900,000 Danes affected by the error. Those getting the refund have been notified by e-Boks.
