Why wait until October?

Oktoberfest

Two ale-addled weekends of lederhosen, beer and oompah music – the Copenhagen Oktoberfest, oddly enough in September, is back in town.

To get into the Tyrol swing of things, the ladies can deck themselves out in traditional Bavarian dirndl aprons, with the men putting their legs on display in leather shorts. Both items can be rented or even bought at the festival.

Let the beer flow, grab a sausage, leap up onto the benches and sing heartily along. Entry is free, but it might be wise to book one of the reservation packages if you want to sit together.

Dog's Day at Tivoli

Every dog has its day, and this is especially true of Tivoli. Its Dog’s Day is when the barking mad can take their beloved best friend for walkies in Tivoli.

Usually Tivoli is a no-go area for yapping hounds, but the Danish Kennel Club will be putting on events and it should be a great day out for dog-owners wanting to meet other like-minded souls and chat about their breeds, but also those just wanting to pat a pooch.

A pedigree parade is planned, as well as a canine quiz with prizes for the lucky winner.
