Tedx takes flight at the airport

True to its mantra, “ideas worth spreading” were being shared by the speakers at the annual TedxCopenhagen Salon, which took place at the Vilhelm Lauritzen Terminal at Copenhagen Airport – a location chosen to fit in with this year’s theme: mobility.

Valerio Sandri (left) spoke to the audience about his car-sharing website MinBilDinBil (see page 4 for more details). Here, car owners can rent out their cars when they’re not using them. Vinay Venkatraman from India (right), who lived all around the world before moving to Copenhagen eight years ago, spoke about how the world of sensors and smart infrastructure is changing the landscape of how people move around.

Anna Xene Marchant, an architect from Ireland, and Will Gurley, a designer from the US ( top left), both work together at Tivoli, which made them the perfect candidates to test out the rickshaw. The Me-Mover was also popular thanks to the attendance of one of its business developers, Patryk Piatek from Poland (top right). Among those helping out were students from the DIS – Eric, Nathalie, Maria and Meghan (bottom left) – while the students from Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) – Chia-Yu from Taiwan, Akarsh from India and Hsing-Lin from Taiwan (bottom right) – were strictly there to lobby.

While Donovan from the US  came to Tedx simply because he finds it interesting. He came to Denmark to study literature, but now he studies health science and is planning to stay in a country that he thinks is a good place to raise kids.
